Julia Svendsen

HELENA - Our beloved mother and grandmother, Julia Svendsen, left us Nov. 14, 2013, for her heavenly home. Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at Hogeland Lutheran Church. Arrangements have been made with Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.

She was born in Caledonia, Minn., on Sept. 21, 1915. Julia was raised in Hogeland (the farm) by Walter and Alma Wing. She attended the Wing School and Harlem High School. She married Ingeman Svendsen on Oct. 1, 1932. She enjoyed her family, always willing to give a helping hand, bringing a casserole or dessert. She enjoyed watching the grandchildren rodeoing, school programs, basketball, baseball, track, fair activities and camping. She was a caregiver to the elderly and visited the hospitals.

She is survived by two daughters, Joann McCloskey Edens (Leon) and Alice Beto (Buzz), both of Helena.

She was proceeded in death by her father and mother; her husband; daughters, Darlene Svendsen and Joyce Chagnon; son-in-laws, Tom McCloskey and Bill Chagnon; grandsons, Mick Chagnon; great-grandson, Dylan Raines; and siblings, Paul and Wallie Wing, Marie, Peter, Johanna and Milo Omodt. She is survived by 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
