Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

Randall Gardipee, Box Elder Boys BB

If last season was a big one for the Box Elder boys basketball team, then 2013-14 could be huge. And senior Randall Gardipee made sure his Bears got off to a great start. Gardipee averaged 23 points and nine rebounds in Box Elder’s two-game sweep at this weekend’s Native American Classic in Havre. Gardipee scored 18 points in Thursday night’s win over Harlem, and for an encore, he poured in a tournament-high 28 points in a win over Class B Rocky Boy Saturday night.

Lita Cammon, Havre High Swimming

Because of an injury, Havre High’s Lita Cammon couldn’t participate in swimming last season. But she’s quickly making up for lost time. The Blue Pony sophomore placed in two events and helped HHS relay teams place high at Saturday’s season-opening Havre Invitational. Cammon finished second in the 200 freestyle Saturday, and also placed fourth in the 200 Individual Medley. She also swam legs on HHS’s second-place 200 free relay team, as well as on the third-place 400 free relay team.
