Highway 87 crash kills 17-year-old

Havre woman sent to hospital

A Sunday evening crash on an icy patch of Highway 87 south of Havre killed the 17-year-old driver of one vehicle and sent another woman to the hospital, Montana Highway Patrol reports.

The Patrol reports that Dusty Lindell Taber, from Shawmut near Harlowton, lost control of a Volvo S80 at 6:17 p.m. Sunday while driving north on U.S. Highway 87 about 15 miles south of Havre.

The Volvo entered the southbound lane and a southbound Kia Spectra, driven by a Jacqueline Rose Morsette of Havre, 30, struck it.

The Shawmut girl, who was wearing a seatbelt, died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Morsette was transported to Northern Montana Hospital, the Highway Patrol report says, and she was reported in fair condition this morning.

Speed was not a factor in the crash, the Highway Patrol report says.
