Local Bowling Report: Havre's Mariani bowls two 300's in a month

Ten Pin Chatter

After a two-week layoff due to the holidays and a week off due to a break in the sprinkler system, Ten Pin Chatter is back with a brief summary of the last three weeks.

Highlights of 2013 included five 300 games and two 800 series. Ival Jackson once again won the Hi-Line Lanes Challenge Tournament, and Michelle Andrade and Tim LaBuda of Big Sandy won the annual No-Tap Tournament. On the distaff side, Julie Rodgers led the way with High Game, Series and Average. Numbers for the youth bowlers were up so the future looks good for Hi-Line Lanes.

In less than a month, Shawn Mariani has bowled two 300 games and one 800 series. That gives him eight career 300 games.

The Junior-Adult League needs three more teams for it to start next Monday. Call the lanes if you are interested.

TOURNEY TRAIL: Kelly Olson, Shawn Mariani and Ron and Nick Turner traveled to Helena over the weekend to bowl in the annual Masters Tournament at Sleeping Giant Lanes.
