HHS swimmers wrap up in Helena

It’s official, the next time the Havre High boys and girls swim teams will compete in races will be at the Montana State Swimming Championships Feb. 13-14 in Butte.

HHS wrapped up the regular season at the Bohn-Morer Meet Saturday at the Carroll College Pool in Helena. The meet featured much of Class AA, as well as Class A power Billings Central, as well as the Blue Ponies.

On the girls said, the Ponies scored 45 points, but didn’t place any individuals. Havre finished in eighth place out of 11 teams. Missoula Hellgate was first with 369 points, followed by Bozeman and Helena Capital.

The HHS girls did get a pair of Top 10 finishes in the relays. The Ponies places sixth in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays. Individually, Lita Cammon placed seventh in the 50 free and eighth in the 100 free. Aubri McCann finished ninth in the 100 breaststroke.

In the boys meet, the young Ponies finished last with four team points. Hellgate was again first with 324 points, followed by Helena High and Bozeman.

Havre will have this week off from competition before heading to Butte for the state meet.
