Richard Alan Lucas

Richard "Dick" Alan Lucas was born in Havre, Mont. to Orval Ashley Lucas and Mamie Helen Marie McGee on Oct. 8, 1931. He died peacefully on Jan. 31, 2014, in Salt Lake City following a long struggle with COPD. He and mom, Dorothy Ann Kostman, were married for many years but eventually divorced. They had three children, Pam, George and Rick.

Over the course of his adult life, Dad gradually moved south; from Havre to Idaho Falls, then Salt Lake, and eventually to Phoenix where he lived for many years before returning to Salt Lake to be near his children. He has worked for the railroad, as a manager at several Chevrolet dealerships and as a heavy duty equipment salesman.

He is survived by two children, Pamela Mollner and Rick (Terri) Lucas; six grandchildren, Melissa (Justin) McKinnon, Whitney Lucas, Jason Lucas, Alexander (Rachel) Lucas, Hamilton (Leigh) Lucas and Christian Lucas; one great-grandchild, Alexis Lucas; and brothers, Rod (Reta), Robert, and Raleigh.

He was preceded

in death by his son, George Lucas; brothers, LeRoy, Orval and George; and sister, Helen Carney.

Services will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State, Murray, Utah at noon on Monday, Feb. 10 with Pastor Jeff Beebe from Our Saviour's Lutheran Church officiating. Friends of the family may visit from 11 a.m. to noon. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Salt Lake City.
