Gov. Bullock to speak at Havre seminar

Governor to join RightNow Technology’s Gianforte as a speaker

Gov. Steve Bullock is joining the list of speakers who will be in Havre Wednesday to talk about the economy.

The University of Montana’s Bureau of Business and Economic Research announced Tuesday that Bullock will speak about the state of the Montana economy during the bureau’s annual Economic Outlook Seminar.

The seminar, running from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Hensler Auditorium in Montana State University-Northern’s Applied Technology Center, features Greg Gianforte as the keynote speaker.

Gianforte, founder of Bozeman’s RightNow Technologies software company, sold RightNow Technologies to Oracle for more than $1.8 billion in 2012. He will be introduced by Bob Rowe, CEO and president of NorthWestern Energy.

The title of this year’s seminar is “Making Montana the First Best Place: How Entrepreneurship is Creating High-Paying Jobs.” The program includes presentations on local, state and national economic forecasts and reports from experts in energy, tourism, health care, agriculture, real estate, manufacturing and forest products.

The Havre seminar is the last stop on a nine-city tour of Montana. For more information or to register, people can call 406-243-5113 or visit the BBER website at http://www.bber.umt.edu.
