Tuesday, Sept. 30

Fossil Festival 2015 organizational meeting will be at Box Cars at 7 p.m. Anyone interested in helping out with the event, which will be Labor Day weekend 2015, is invited to attend. For more information, call Margie at 265-7721.

Senior & Parent night at Havre High will be in the auditorium at 6:30 p.m. Parents and guardians can join HHS counselors to learn how student, parents and counselors can work together preparing students for life after high school. Information on scholarships, financial aid, graduation requirements and more will be covered. For more information, call 265-6731.

Lawrence VanDyke, candidate for Montana Supreme Court, will have an open reception at the TownHouse Inns Hospitality Room 4:40 to 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

NAMI, National Alliance on Mental Illness, will meet at the Havre-Hill County Library at 5:30 p.m. For more information, call Cindy at 265-6409.

Wednesday, Oct. 1

Books and Babies is at 10:15 a.m. at the Havre-Hill County Library. This event is free, and everybody is welcome.

Story Time is at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Havre-Hill County Library. The event is free, and everybody is welcome.

Tunes at Noon in the lower level of the Atrium Mall will feature live music presented by Mary Stevens.

Thursday, Oct. 2

Candidates Forum with state legislators will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Havre High School Auditorium. The public is encouraged to attend.

Thrivent Financial monthly meeting will begin at noon at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

A grief support group, for anyone who has lost a spouse, will meet at Havre-Hill County Library at 2 pm. Contact Shirley, at 265-5135, for more information.

Friday, Oct. 3

Pachyderm Club will meet at noon at the Duck Inn Vineyard Room. Speakers will be Sens. Janna Taylor and Dee Brown from Flathead County, speaking on state issues. The public is welcome to this no-host luncheon.

Havre High Homecoming Parade will begin at 4 p.m. in the high school parking lot and proceed down 5th Avenue to Dairy Queen and return south down 5th again.

Saturday, Oct. 4

The Havre Presbyterian Church "Spuds & Stuff" Bazaar will be 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 701 4th Ave. The cost is $8 per plate, and the public is invited to attend.

Sunday, Oct. 5

Cottonwood Farmers Union Local 145 will meet at 3:30 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 605 5th St. The public is welcome.

Monday, Oct. 6

The Havre Middle School seventh- and eighth-grade bands and jazz bands will present their Early Fall Concert at 7 p.m. in the HMS Assembly Room.  There is no charge for the concert, and everyone is welcome.

Havre Community Pool reopens this day. For more information, call 265-5781.

Tuesday, Oct. 7

Havre High choir concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the HHS Auditorium.

The Hi-Line Quilt Guild meets the first Tuesday of the month at the Holiday Village Mall Community Center at 7 p.m.

MSU-Northern Community Choir will meet at 7 p.m. at Pershing Hall on the Northern campus. Anyone who enjoys singing is invited to join.

The North Central Hangar of the Montana Pilots Association will hold its monthly meeting starting at 7:30 p.m. in the terminal at the Havre City-County Airport.

Friends of Beaver Creek Park monthly meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at Van Orsdel United Methodist Church.

Recycle Hi-Line will meet at 7 p.m. at the Hill County Electric Hospitality Room at 2121 U.S. Highway 2 NW.

Saturday, Oct. 18

Recycle Drive and E-Waste Collection will be accepting recyclable paper-based, metal, glass, plastic and electronic products from 8 a.m. to noon at Pacific Steel and Recycling the third Saturday of every month. I would LOVE to see our community list more events in this section. So many times you hear from a friend that went to some event or fundraiser that you didn't even hear about. Would love to see any little thing going on in Havre to be posted here.

HPS Education Foundation hosting the annual HOLIDAY HOOPS Blue Pony alumni basketball games on Friday December 27th at the Havre Middle School. First game at 6:30pm. Players contact Tony at 390-6178 or Grayson at Master Sports. Fun for the whole family!
