Tuesday, Aug. 4

National Night Out will be held 6 to 8 p.m. at MSU-Northern Student Union Building Drive. The no-cost event will feature a free barbecue, live music, a helicopter, and raffles for a bike and for guns. The activities are sponsored by Havre Police Department in conjunction with the other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies from the area.

Fossil Festival meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at Boxcars. Everyone is encouraged to attend. For more information, call Margie at 265-7721.

Kicks @ 6 summer concert series begins at 6 p.m. at Pepin Park with Sax Cadillac & the Other Brothers & Sistas playing Salsa and Latin music in "La Bamba."

The Hi-Line Quilt Guild meets the first Tuesday of the month at the Holiday Village Mall Community Center at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 5

Riding the Waves Vacation Bible School for all youth entering first through sixth grades will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 625 4th Ave. Lunch is free for participants. For more information, call 265-6895 or 265-8582.

A two-day Native American Entrepreneurial Workshop with RedWind begins this day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Stone Child College in the Jon Morsette Vo-Tech Center. The small business development workshop, including class materials and refreshments, is free and open to the public. Sounds on the Square will be at Town Square from 6 to 8 p.m. with The Stone Broke String Band playing traditional country/bluegrass. Everyone is welcome to come join the fun.

Books and Babies is at 10:15 a.m. at the Havre-Hill County Library. The event is free, and everybody is welcome.

Story Time is at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Havre-Hill County Library. This week's theme is New Books. The event is free, and everybody is welcome.

Thursday, Aug. 6

Emily Mayer, local historian and author, will be at Havre-Hill County Library with her book "Havre." She will have a Q&A, books for sale, and a signing beginning at 7 p.m.

Hill County Republicans will have a no-host dinner at the Duck Inn Vineyard Room at 6 p.m. and to watch the Republican presidential debate at 7 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.

"Dracula," a Montana Actors' Theatre Youth Company production, is showing at 8 p.m. Doors at the MSU-Northern Little Theatre will open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for students and seniors, and free to Northern students with a valid ID. Tickets are available at the door as well as Angie's Wildflowers, Computer Center, Bear Paw Meats and Bear Paw Montana Realty.

Adult Bullying Group, focusing on coping with, alleviating and eliminating adult bullying, will meet at 4 p.m. at the Book Exchange—Emporium in the Atrium Mall, 220 3rd Ave. For more information and to join this group, call 406-217-5222.

Soccer pick-up games will be held this summer at Havre High School soccer fields Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. Games are for any middle school and high school students and adults. 

Friday, Aug. 7

A mindfulness meditation group will meet at 2 p.m. at the Book Exchange—Emporium in the upper level of the Atrium, 220 3rd Ave. This is a free group and everyone is welcome. Instruction is provided for those new to meditation. For more information, call 406-217-5222.

Lego Time and Robotics will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Havre-Hill County Library. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 265-2123.

Don't you have the Bullnanzacoming to your area soon? Sure can't find any info. on it and Havre/Hill County has a lot of cowboys.

I would LOVE to see our community list more events in this section. So many times you hear from a friend that went to some event or fundraiser that you didn't even hear about. Would love to see any little thing going on in Havre to be posted here.

HPS Education Foundation hosting the annual HOLIDAY HOOPS Blue Pony alumni basketball games on Friday December 27th at the Havre Middle School. First game at 6:30pm. Players contact Tony at 390-6178 or Grayson at Master Sports. Fun for the whole family!
