Eleanor Mae Wilson

Eleanor Mae Wilson, 85, a long-time resident at 924 2nd Ave NW Great Falls, Mont., died on Monday, April 14, of natural causes at Missouri River Manor in Great Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Edwards Funeral Home in Chinook, Mont. A reception will be held after the burial services at Kuper Memorial Cemetery in Chinook. Arrangements have been made with Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.

The daughter of Calvin James and Julia Ethel Kimsey Hall, Eleanor was born in Chinook on Dec. 31, 1929, and was the fourth child of five brothers and seven sisters. She was a graduate of Chinook High School, and in 1948 she married Lyle Joseph Wilson of Harlem, Mont., a true Montana girl, she lived in Chinook, Broadus, Glasgow, Havre and finally settled in Great Falls in 1957.

Eleanor took pride in raising three sons, Jim, Chris, Tim, and daughter, Karen. The entire family shared a love for the outdoors with yearly summer camping trips. No stranger to hard work, she was always providing for her family, working as a waitress, meter maid and cook. But more than anything else she enjoyed taking care of her family and may be best remembered as a caregiver. After retiring she took care of ailing husband, Lyle, and her daughter, Karen. She loved spending time with family and was frequently returning to the Hi-Line visiting friends and attending numerous family gatherings in Havre, Chinook and Harlem. A true believer in the word of the Lord Jesus Christ, she attended services at local area churches during her life in Great Falls.

Eleanor is survived by her two sons, Jim (Patrice) and Tim (Nancy); two grandchildren, Erin and Maura; one great-grandchild, Henzley Scott; brother, Ira Hall of Chinook; sisters, Rosella Annis and Kathy Rudolph of Chinook and numerous nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Mary, Izzie, Alice, Lola Lee and Evelyn; four brothers, James, Buddy, Frank and Ray; her husband; a son and daughter.
