Dorothy Dean Muzzy

Dorothy Dean Muzzy, passed away in Kalispell on Monday April 21, 2014, after a brief illness.

She was born Dorothy Dean Saville on Feb. 10, 1927, in Sedro-Woolley, Wash., the eldest daughter of Frank and Edith Saville.

Later raised in Kelso, Wash., Dorothy excelled at academics and was honored as valedictorian of her high school graduating class.

Attending Northern Montana College in Havre, Dorothy would meet and marry local resident Harold Foubert.

Settling as farmers, ranchers and milk producers on the outskirts of town, Dorothy and Harold raised four children; three of them Dorothy had been moved to adopt by the Holt Adoption Program.

Retiring to Columbia Falls, Mont., Dorothy and Harold would reside there until Harold's death in 1981. Later, in 1982, Dorothy married Lloyd "Curly" Patrick of Gildford, Mont., a union that lasted until Lloyd's death in 1992. In 1996, Dorothy would meet Craig Muzzy, a Minnesota transplant to Apache Junction, Ariz. They would marry and split their time between Bigfork, Mont., and Arizona for many years.

Dorothy was a long-time member of the Bigfork Bridge Club, but her devotion to the game was second to her commitment to her family and her church. A founding member of the Bigfork Christian Church, Dorothy leaves behind many friends who will remember her kindness and support. She is survived by her husband Craig Muzzy of the home; a daughter, Terry Farmer, residing with husband Jerry Farmer in Bluff City, Tenn .; a son, Michael Foubert, residing in Olathe, Kan., with partner Michael Anderson; a son, Thomas Foubert, residing in Bozeman, Mont., with wife Selisa Rausch; a daughter, Lisa Foubert of Polson, Mont .; granddaughter and great-granddaughter, Devlin and Avery Foubert, both of Alaska; sister, Mary Salberg of Kelso, Wash .; and sister, Barbara Wagner of Austin, Texas.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Bigfork Christian Church, 110 Shawnee Drive, Bigfork. Pastor Mike Steenson will officiate.
