Pony track teams out-dual the Bison

The Class AA Great Falls High junior varsity track team put up a good fight, but it was the Havre High boys and girls teams that came out on top after the Blue Ponies hosted a dual meet.

Tuesday, the two programs met at the Havre Middle School track in Havre. There were some varsity athletes in attendance for the Bison, but most of the competitors make up the junior varsity team. The Blue Pony girls outscored the Bison 96-42, and the Blue Pony boys outscored the Bison 86-57.

Peyton Filius, Rachel David and Megan Erickson swept the 400 and 800 meters for the Pony girls. Filius won the 400 with a time of 65.2 as well as the 800 with a time of 2:41.8, while David took second in the 400 with a time of 67.3 and second in the 800 with a time of 2:51.3. Erickson finished third in both, running a 68.0 in the 400 and a 2:51.4 in the 800. And Haley Ohm and Meggie Zook also both placed in the 1,600 and 3,200.
