Brenda Gardipee

Brenda Lee TopSky-Gardipee, Walking on Sweetgrass Woman — Wi-Kahs-Ki-Pi-Mo-Tew Is-Kew, 54, of Rocky Boy, passed away on April 30, 2014, at Peace Hospice in Great Falls, Montana. Wake services began at 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Rocky Boy. Funeral service will be at noon on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at the Old Stone Child College gym, with Chippewa Cree Tribal Elders officiating.

Brenda was born in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Charles and Eliza (Samatt) TopSky on March 13, 1960. She attended school in Blackfoot and later earned her bachelor’s degree in human services at Motnana State University-Northern in Havre, Montana. In 1991, she married Rick Gardipee, and the couple raised seven children. Brenda was Chippewa Cree Tribe child support director.

Brenda enjoyed beading, reading, watching her grandkids and watching her son play basketball.

She was preceded

in death by her parents, Charles and Eliza TopSky; her brothers, Willis Don TopSky; an infant brother; and sisters, Shirley Ann TopSky Dixey and Geneva Rose TopSky.

Brenda is survived

by her husband, Rick Gardipee; daughters, Angel TopSky, Lacey Gardipee, Leilani Gardipee and Jayden Gardipee all of Rocky Boy, Montana, and her adopted daughter, Terri Smallboy of Hobbema, Canada; sons, Donny TopSky and Theron Wright of Havre, and Randall Gardipee of Rocky Boy; grandchildren, Jermayne Saddler, Neva Wright, Maliyah Gardipee, Tiran and Zade and Emma Zorthian; sisters, Frances TopSky and Elaine TopSky of Rocky Boy; and brothers Lloyd TopSky and Leland TopSky of Rocky Boy.
