Timothy Francis

Timothy Alan Francis, 51, of Billings passed away April 30, 2014, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings.

Tim was born Nov. 8, 1962, in Helena, Montana, to Clarence and Sharon Peterman Francis. He graduated from Fergus High School in Lewistown, Montana in 1981. He served in the United States Navy in 1985, was honorably discharged and retired in 1988. Tim graduated from Northern Montana College in 1991 with an Associate of Science Degree in Electronics Technology. He worked as a signal maintainer for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad from 1992 to 2002.

Timothy was active in the Boy Scouts of America and enjoyed cars as a hobby.

Survivors include his sons, Tynan Alan Francis, Tevin Lee Francis, Trenton Christopher Francis; step-daughter, Taitlynn Reighann Swanson; ex-wife, Toni Swanson; parents, Clarence Alan Francis and Sharron Lynn Howell; siblings, Karen Holm, Ronda Thomas, Michael Howell, Mark Howell, Matthew Howell, Debra Lee Francis and Jonathan Francis; and grandmother, Marceen Peterman.

He was preceded in death by his son, Tavis Francis; daughter, Tabitha Francis, grandparents, BJ Peterman; and Roy and Emma Francis; stepfather, Leo Howell; and uncles, Butch Francis and Denis Peterman.

Visitation is Wednesday, May 7, from 5-7 p.m ,. at Creel Funeral Home in Lewistown. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 8, 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow at Lewistown City Cemetery with Military Honors.
