Milan John Pavlovick

Milan John Pavlovick passed away at Northern Montana Care Center in Havre, Montana, on May 12, 2014, after an extended illness. He was 76 years of age.

Milan was born on July 10, 1938, at the family farm home at Iliad, Montana, to Elsie Cikrit Pavlovick and John Pavlovick. He was delivered by a midwife. The family home was a quarter mile north of the Iliad school where Milan began his education. He went to high school in Big Sandy, where he graduated in 1956. He went on to trade school at Northern Montana College and later a veterinary school, which proved useful on his ranch and when neighbors needed help.

The family farm consisted of land at Iliad and extended from Black Coulee along Birch Creek to the Missouri River. Milan helped on the farm, and as he grew up, and with his love of the Breaks, he wanted to be there. He bought the Lutge place at the mouth of Birch Creek where he ranched until health issues forced him to dispose of the ranch. He loved to fish and hunt and the ranch afforded him the opportunity to do this. In addition to ranching, Milan was involved in construction and trucking. The dams and roads and other things he built will stand as a living monument to his precise ability.  When he left the ranch, he moved to care facilities in Big Sandy and then to Northern Montana Care Center, where he resided until his passing. While he was there he was active with helping with fellow residents.  He took care of the flowers and even planted vegetables which he gave to the fellow residents.

Milan was always very active in the community. He served on the school board, the Farmers’ Union Co-op Board, Soil Conservation District and always willing to help anyone who needed help. He was known throughout many counties around the area. His laugh could always be heard penetrating the area surrounding his presence.

Milan was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elsie; his brother and sister-in-law Joe and Carol Moravec; a second sister-in-law Audrey Moravec; and his nephew, Arlan; along with a host of longtime friends.

Milan is survived by two sons, Cody (Selena) with two grandchildren of Marietta, Georgia, and Mitch (Jeri) with three grandchildren of Harlowton, Montana, along with sister, Evelyn (Bruce) Peterson; brother, Frank (Charlene) Moravec, brother, John; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place with a family service to be held later. The family would like to honor the Northern Montana Care Center in Havre for the care they gave Milan during his stay. Memorial gifts may also be sent to a charity of your choice. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements, and you can leave your memories and condolences for the family at http://www.hollandbonine.com.
