Zinke wins Montana GOP US House Primary

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Ryan Zinke of Whitefish has won the Republican nomination for Montana's sole U.S. House seat.

The former state senator will go on to face John Lewis, Tuesday's winner of the Democratic primary with John Driscoll.

Zinke defeated state Sens. Elsie Arntzen and Matt Rosendale, former state Sen. Corey Stapleton and Drew Turiano.

The 52-year-old Zinke raised the most money in the campaign with $1.2 million as of mid-May. But he also spent more than $1 million to win the nomination.

Montana's House seat opened up when GOP Rep. Steve Daines decided to run for Senate.
