Local gridders set to play in All-Star games

The All-Star football summer circuit begins with a bang this weekend. And several area players will be part of the action.

The annual Eight-Man All-Star game will be held Saturday night in Butte, and players from Chinook and Chester/J-I will be on the Blue Team. Chinook’s Zach Molyneaux, who’s headed to Rocky Mountain College, will be on the Blue Squad, coached by former Chester star and current Belt head coach Jeff Graham. Also on the Blue Team is Chester/J-I’s Cody Ramberg, Steven May and Jack Fritz. C/J-I head coach Jim Vinson is also an assistant coach on the Blue Team.

Meanwhile, Highwood will be the site of the annual Six-Man All-Star Game Saturday night. And two Hi-Line players will be playing for the Red Team. North Star standouts Cooper Spicher and Quinn Spinler were both invited to the Red Team, which is coached by Geraldine-Highwood’s Brandon Gondiero.

Both of this weekend’s All-Star football games kick off at 7 p.m.
