Essie Rose St. Dennis

Essie Rose St. Dennis, 67, of Havre, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014, at her residence, of natural causes.  Cremation has taken place, and private family memorial services will be held at a later date.  Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.   Essie was born on July 15, 1947, in Kalispell to William and Rose (Keith) Shupe.  She was raised all over Montana, and married Russ St. Dennis in 1967. The couple made their home, first in various Montana cities, moving to Washington, before returning to Montana, finally settling in Havre. They raised their three children before separating in 2000, but remained friends.

Essie was a wonderful woman who was opinionated and outspoken, but adored her family. She had a sense of adventure and loved to travel, but also enjoyed staying put to go fishing, dancing and watching her grandchildren play sports. She had a passion for fashion and shopping and simply adored QVC and HSN.

Essie was preceded in death by her sons Joe and Rusty St. Dennis; her parents William Shupe and Rose Keck; her brother Joe Shupe; and her daughter-in-law Glenda St. Dennis.

She is survived by her daughter, Jamie St. Dennis of Texas; her granddaughters, Jessica (Eric) Schweigert and Shannon (Jeff Seymour) St. Dennis, all of Havre; her six great-grandchildren; her longtime friend, Phil Sayers of Havre; her sister, Toni (Scott) Sward of Bakersfield, California; her lifelong friend, Gaye Taylor of Bellingham, Washington; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
