Bullhook gets $250K to expand mental health services

In the midst of preparations for a grand opening of Havre’s newest medical facility, a U.S. senator announced the clinic has received a quarter-million dollars in funds to expand its services.

U.S. Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., announced Wednesday that the Affordable Care and Patient Protection Act — Obamacare — is providing $250,000 to Bullhook Community Health Center to add mental health care services and develop new models of care.

“Mental health issues pose some of the greatest challenges facing America,” Tester said in a press release Wednesday. “But if we act now, we can make sure folks address these issues effectively and lead healthy lives.

“This award will help more folks in north-central Montana access the quality health care they deserve,” he added.

Tester is one of the speakers scheduled for the grand opening celebration of the newly built Bullhook facility on the 500 Block of 4th Street set for Friday, Aug. 15.

The clinic is offering special rates — $25 for sports physicals and $50 for blood lab work — Monday through Thursday next week leading up to the grand opening, all during National Health Center Week. For more information or to schedule an appointment, people can call Bullhook Community Health Center at 265-4541.

Wouldnt count on the 250K has anything gone right with the affordable Care Act?? Or as I like to say the unaffordable care act that creates long lines and poor care in our health system??
