The Hill County Community Foundation awarded the Havre-Hill County Library $500 to give to Vince Woodwick for his basic drawing class.
Woodwick said this is the second official year of his class, but said he has been holding it for three. Every Saturday, Woodwick and his students meet to learn basic pencil drawing techniques.
He said this year, he had to turn eight or nine kids away after putting an ad about the class in the paper and on radio because the class filled quickly.
The class is 12 weeks long and will be finished in October. Woodwick said he hopes to continue teaching the class, but it depends on whether or not he will receive more funds.
The HCCF awards grants to projects that "focus on arts and culture, community beautification, and basic human needs," said Marie Hobson, the treasurer of the HCCF.
