The Havre High football team had a chance to beat the Miles City Cowboys for a second straight time. But that chance slipped away in the fourth quarter. Friday night in Miles City, the Cowboys scored back-to-back touchdowns in the second half, edging the Ponies 27-19.
Havre led 13-7 at halftime, and again 19-14 at the start of the fourth, after Dane Warp hit Parker Filius on a short TD pass. From there however, the Cowboys wnet on a quick scoring drive early in the fourth, then they scored on a seven-minute drive that ended the contest.
The loss dropped the Blue Ponies to 0-2 on the season, and they'll look for their first win of 2014 next Friday when they host Sidney.
