Letters to the Editor: Havre Pride is a community effort

Editor:

Fall is a great time to take another look at our community and do some needed fall “housecleaning.” A clean community shows pride and is more inviting than a community with dirty sidewalks, weeds growing through the cracks and borrow pits scattered with litter.

Havre Pride is a community-wide effort to clean up our town. The goal is to first get the community members working together to clean up our town, and second, to educate people on the subject of litter and community pride.

The Havre Area Chamber of Commerce Havre Pride Committee would like to thank those that came out Saturday to pick up Havre. As with any project it takes many to make it work and be successful. The partnership with Recycle Hi-Line has added to the importance of this September Saturday.

A thank-you also goes to our local media teams for getting the word out about Havre Pride and Recycle Hi-Line and to Zip Trip for agreeing to be a Havre Pride dumpster site and to Bonnie for helping out.

A thank-you goes to the city of Havre for its help in setting up and to the Montana apartment of Transportation for trash bags and their help with keeping 1st Street and 5th Avenue clean.

Debbie Vandeberg,

executive director

Havre Area Chamber of Commerce
