Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

Hannah Weber, Chinook Volleyball

The Chinook Sugarbeeters are off to a really good start on the volleyball court this season. And so is senior Hannah Weber. Already an All-Conference performer a year ago, Weber has been doing a little of everything for the Beeters this season. Weber plays in multiple spots in Chinook’s rotation and she helped the team to three wins this past week. Included in that trio of victories was Weber’s eight kills and 12 assists in a huge District 6C East showdown with North Star last Friday night, which Weber and the Beeters won in straight sets.

Cody Bailey, Big Sandy Football

The Big Sandy Pioneers picked up an impressive Six-Man football victory. And running back Cody Bailey was a big reason why. In the Pioneers’ 61-32 win at Augusta Saturday, Bailey rushed for 204 yards, while scoring five touchdowns as Big Sandy improved to 2-1 on the season. Bailey, who also plays basketball at Big Sandy, scored on runs of 21, 11, 6, 5 and 50 yards. He also made two extra points for the Pioneers as their kicker. Bailey’s long gain was also 63 yards on a rush in the second quarter as the Pioneers rolled up 542 yards on the day.
