Book sale kicks off

The Friends of the Library Book Sale began at 8 a.m. today, but the library staff and volunteers were preparing for the event more than a day in advance.

Bonnie Williamson, the treasurer for the Friends of the Library, said yesterday the preparations were going well with the help they received setting up for the event.

She said the Friends of the Library has been holding the book sale for around 30 years. The group and library accepted donations all year-round and, before they began to bring the books out for the sale, the storage room was fairly packed with boxes of thousands of books.
