After graduation, Bonnie worked for a time as a newspaper deliverer. In 1974, she moved out on her own and began her extensive volunteer work. Bonnie was active in raising money for so many charities, but was best known for ringing the Salvation Army bell at Gary & Leo's Fresh Foods for more than 30 years. She also worked closely with the Havre Eagles Auxiliary and spent countless hours keeping the softball fields litter free.

Bonnie enjoyed singing karaoke, dancing and socializing at the American Legion and later the Eagles Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Olga Bennett, and her nephew, Joshua Bennett.

Bonnie is survived by her brother, Gary (Sandra) Bennett of Havre; her sisters, Lois "Penny" Whitaker of Billings, and Joy (Gene) Corner and Sara (Mike) Rodgers, both of Havre; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and lifetime friends.

People interested in contributing to the Bonnie Jane Bennett Memorial Fund can do so at the Bear Paw Credit Union. Funds will be placed toward funeral expenses and burial. Any remaining funds will go toward either a community memorial scholarship, plaque or distributed among the various charities that Bonnie worked with all of her life.
