Havre Daily News to hold candidate forum Thursday

Candidates for state Legislature races in the Havre area will take part in a candidate forum at Havre High School, 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The Havre Daily News will sponsor the forum.

Candidates in three races will take part. They are:

State Sen. District 14: Republican Kris Hansen vs. Democrat Greg Jergeson.

House District 27: Rob Laas (D) vs. Roy Hollandsworth (R)

House District 28: Stephanie Hess (R) vs. Janet Trethewey (D).

John Ita, a Havre High School civics teacher, will moderate the forum.

Questions are being sought from Havre Daily News readers, who can email proposed questions to [email protected].

Questions will be reviewed by Ita and Havre Daily News Managing Editor John Kelleher.

Ita will ask the questions at the forum.

Candidates will be able to distribute campaign materials prior to the session, but not during the forum.

The Havre Daily News is sponsoring the forum to supplement our newspaper coverage of the campaign.

"We want to give our readers the most information we can," said Publisher Stacy Mantle, "so they can make an informed decision."
