Obituary - Gary Allen Coston

Gary Allen Coston, 75, passed away on Oct. 1, 2014, in Chinook.

Memorial services will be Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, at 2 p.m., at the Alliance Church in Chinook. Arrangements have been made with Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook. Condolences may be left for the family at http://www.edwardsfuneralhomemt.com.

Gary Allen Coston was born July 15, 1939, in New Market, Iowa, to Walter and Verla Coston.  

Gary was in the Air Force from 1958 until 1961 and spent a year in Iceland. 

He lived in Bend, Oregon, for a few years before settling in Montana, where he married his wife, France, on Dec. 19, 1970, and spent the last 43 years raising three girls. After spending several years in North Dakota and Colorado working in the oilfield, Gary returned to Montana in 2000 to be closer to his grandkids.

Everyone will remember Gary for always having a story to tell, which would often be about trucks, old cars, hunting, fishing, guns, farming or an occasional rant about political issues.

Gary is preceded in death by his father, Walter Coston; his mother, Verla Coston; and a brother, Darrell Coston. 

Gary is survived by a brother, Harold Coston and his wife, Pauline, of College Springs, Iowa; a sister, Nancy Wayman and her husband, Richard, of Clarinda, Iowa; and another, sister, Waneta Gibson and her husband, Tom, of Grand Island, Nebraska. 

Gary is also survived by his wife, France Coston of Chinook, Montana; a daughter, Tammy and her husband, Jim, of Stagecoach, Texas; a daughter, Marsha of Havre, Montana; a daughter, Patricia of Aurora, Ohio; as well as grandkids, Taylor, Dakota, Aspyn, Abby and Emily.
