Obituary - Larry "Jonesy" "Casey" Jones

BIG SANDY — Larry “Jonesy” “Casey” Jones 71, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014, from complications of his COPD while picking up a load in Sedalia, Alberta, Canada, for the company he has worked for the last several years Dale Bouma Trucking. We invite all his friends and family to celebrate Jonesy’s life with us. Graveside services will be held at Big Sandy Cemetery on Wednesday. Oct 2, at 1 p.m. Logan Terry will be officiating. Hi-Line Funeral Services of Havre is in charge of arrangements.

He was born to the late Thomas and Pearl Jone, May, 4 1943, in Stilwell, Oklahoma,. He attended grades 1-8 at Wauhillau grade school and graduated from Stilwell High School in May 1959. After attending secondary education he joined the Army in October in 1960 where he served three years in Germany until July 1963.

Larry later met Kathy K. Terry while on a custom harvesting crew and married her on Oct. 5, 1974 at Bidding Creek Baptist Church. They resided in Oklahoma for a short period of time and later moved to Montana where they spent the rest of their 40-year marriage together. They resided in Big Sandy since August 1985 where they raised their three daughter’s together Rana V, Alexa L. and Wendy M.

Larry was a loving father, husband and grandfather. He enjoyed driving truck, fishing, spider solitaire, crosswords, reading, Omoksee, horses, and spending time with his nine grandchildren, wife, and his children. He felt blessed to spend the last year and half of his life with his sidekick, Junior. Larry worked driving truck for most of his life and passed away doing what he loved. He was loved by many and will be missed.

He is survived by wife, Kathy K. of Big Sandy; daughters,  Rana V. Gilead of Havre, Alexa L. Jones of Billings, Montana Wendy M. Jones (Joe Don Demontiney) of Big Sandy, Montana; sisters, Ruth Willhite of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Carol Iriart Rose of Wagoner, Oklahoma; and brother, Thomas M. Jones Sr. of  Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas M. Jones and Pearl M. Jones; and brother, L. Gene Jones.
