Obituary - Tyler James Faulkinberry

Tyler James Faulkinberry entered peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus in Billings on Oct. 18, 2014, following a tough and courageous fight with colon cancer. Tyler's service will be Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at 11 a.m in Harlem High School Gymnasium. Graveside services will immediately follow at Harlem Cemetery. Tyler was born in Havre on April 14, 1989, to Lyle and Kim Faulkinberry. In August 1991 he became a big brother and hero to his little sister, Taylor, who loved and adored him. Tyler attended grade school, middle school, and high school in Harlem. While in high school, Tyler participated in wrestling, track and golf, but his true passion was for football. Tyler was an all-state center and linebacker for the Wildcats. His love of football earned him a linebacker position in the 2007 Class B all-star game, starting 180 # center in the East/West Shrine game. He traveled to Hawaii to compete in the King Kamehameha Bowl. He will forever and always be a Harlem Wildcat.

Tyler graduated in 2007 as valedictorian, which earned him an academic scholarship and an athletic football scholarship to Montana State University-Northern. He graduated from Northern in May 2011 with a bachelor's degree in drafting.

Right after graduation Tyler went to work for Hebberly Engineering. He worked in Havre until November 2013, when he moved to Billings and took a job with HDR Engineering. Besides work, Tyler also found time to play video games with his sister and friends over the years, either online or in person.

On April 26, 2008, Tyler met and fell deeply in love with Jasmine Heilig. Tyler and Jasmine carried their love into marriage on June 26, 2010. They started their married life in a home they purchased in Havre, then relocated to Billings in November 2013.

Tyler and Jasmine enjoyed traveling, watching movies, playing golf, and basically everything they could do together, they did. Both were avid Montana Grizzlies football fans, but could not agree on their favorite NFL teams. Jasmine's team, the Broncos, experienced much more success than Tyler's team, the Cowboys. As a result, Tyler lost many football related battles.

Tyler and Jasmine were baptized together in Christ in 2010. Both enjoyed learning the peace and joy Jesus Christ brought to the both of them. Tyler passed away knowing he would walk into the gates of Heaven with Jesus waiting for him along with his Grandpa Bud, mentor, Brad Bishop, and favorite teacher, Matt Siemens.

Tyler is survived by the love of his life, Jasmine Faulkinberry; his parents, Lyle and Kim Faulkinberry; sister, Taylor Faulkinberry; maternal grandparents; Richard and Sharon Smith; paternal grandparents, Luke and MaryLou Faulkinberry; as well as three great-grandmothers, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and many, many lifelong friends.

Tyler's smile could light up a room and will forever be remembered. His kindness for others was evident in his unselfish love for others. He did not want anyone to be left out and was always thinking about others rather than himself and demonstrated this love for others until the very end.
