Letters to the Editor: Thanks to the community for help with Havre speech, debate and drama meet

I wanted to thank everyone who helped us at the Havre High School invitational speech, drama and debate tournament Saturday.

We can’t put these tournaments on for the students without help from the community, and, again, people from north-central Montana went above and beyond normal to get the tournament done.

From the people who judged to the people who helped behind the scenes, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks, including to the Havre High School and Havre Public Schools administration, faculty and staff helping run the tournament and helping with judging.

I also want to thank the coaches from the other schools, both for the work they did helping with the tournament and for coaching and bringing their students so they had a chance to compete. That also goes to all the students, from Havre and from all the schools that came, for putting in the work to prepare and then coming to the tournament.

I especially want to thank everyone for their patience — we got pretty far behind from the start of the tournament, and I apologize for the long waits so many judges — and competitors — had while we tried to iron out problems that arose.

Again, thanks for all you do.
