MSU-Northern's Lee named Frontier Player of the Week

For the second time on the young season, a Montana State University-Northern basketball player has been named Frontier Conference Player of the Week.

MSU-Northern junior guard Trevail Lee was named Men’s Basketball Player of the Week on Monday. Lee is a 5-9 junior guard from Memphis, Tenn.

Northern won two games over the weekend. A 93-87 victory over the University of Lethbridge and won by forfeit over the University of Alberta.

In the win over Lethbridge, Lee scored 28 points, pulled down four rebounds, had three assists and two steals.He was was 8 of 13 from the field (62 percent), 4 of 7 in 3-point field goals and 8 of 10 (80 percent) from the free-throw-line.

The Lights are back in action next weekend in Portland, Oregon.

Lee is currently averaging 15.5 points per game and four assists per game for the Lights, who are currently 5-0 on the season. Northern is off this week, and will play three games in Portland, Oregon Nov. 6-8.

For the second straight week Great Falls guard Erin Legel was named Frontier Women’s Player of the Week. The Argos won two games in Canada over the weekend. Great Falls beat the University of Lethbridge 82-57 and Mount Royal University 91-63.

She averaged 24.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, three assists and two steals. Legel was 14 of 31 from field (45 percent), 14 of 31 3-point field goals (45 percent) and 10 of 11 from the free throw line (91 percent). Northern senior A’Jha Edwards was also nominated.
