Election 2014: Polls to close at 8 p.m.

Polls will be open until 8 p.m. in today's voting for elected officials.

Indications are that there will be higher-than-usual turnout as voters pick representatives to the Montana House and the Montana Senate as well as the U.S. Senate and House.

State races are highlighted by the contest for the Senate, where U.S. Rep. Steve Daines, a Republican, is running against Democrat Amanda Curtis.

Republican Ryan Zinke is challenging John Lewis for Montana's lone U.S. House seat.

In addition, two seats on the Montana Supreme Court are at stake.

Locally, Hi-Line voters will elect representatives to the Montana Legislature.

County officers will also be chosen, but in Hill County, Democrats are unopposed for most offices.

People who are certain where to vote can call the Clerk and Recorder's Office in their county.
