Volunteers sought for Thanksgiving Dinner

Special to the Daily News

Plans are being made for the 2014 Community Thanksgiving Dinner.  The dinner is provided free to the entire community by an anonymous donor.  The spirit of the dinner is to bring our community together as one big extended family.

Organizers said that in 2013 the people who ran the dinner prepared and served more than 750 meals thanks to the more than 135 volunteers who shared their time and talent.

The 2014 dinner will take place at St. Jude Parish Center at 440 7th Ave.

Thanksgiving Day, the doors open at 11 a.m. and remain open until 2 p.m. Take-out food is not available. All leftovers are given to the Feed My Sheep Soup Kitchen.
