Obituary - Edward James Lavenger

Edward James Lavenger, 79, passed away from natural causes on Nov. 10, 2014.

He was born at

Fort Belknap, Montana, on June 27, 1935, was raised in the Bear Paw Mountains, went to Chinook High School, and then entered the U.S. Navy.

He also graduated from Spokane Falls Community College and Eastern Montana College. He served on the Little Shell band of Chippewa Indians Tribal Council and was a licensed addiction counselor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Elizabeth; sister Gloria Williams; brother Louis and sister-in-law, Willima J. Lavenger; he left behind sons Jimmy, Scott and Jeffry; sisters and brothers, Edythe (Jack) Hebig, Phyllis Trotchie, Ruby (Charles) Chavis, Elaine Morin, Bill, Gary Sr., Betty, Bob, Karen, Cheryl, John (Caern), numerous nieces and nephews.

He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, camping, doo wop and Merle Haggard.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Nov. 14, at Edwards Funeral Home in Chinook, after a private family viewing. Cremation will take place.
