Man jailed on charge of attempted murder

A man was in the Hill County jail this morning being held on suspicion of attempted murder, but details of his arrest were not available by printing deadline this morning.

The Hill County Detention Center inmate population listed Doug Hopf, 46, of Havre as being held without bond for the Havre Police Department on pending charges of attempted deliberate homicide. The list shows his entry to the jail as Saturday.

No details of Hopf's arrest were available in the Havre police call log the Havre Daily received this morning, although one call from the 1600 Block of 2nd Street at 11:42 p.m. Saturday listed an arrest without details available. In the call, the caller said his vehicle window had been shot out.

A call to the Havre Police Department was referred to Acting Police Chief Gabe Matosich, who had not called the Havre Daily back by printing deadline this morning.
