Obituary - Delores Shaw

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Delores Shaw, passed away due to natural causes on Monday, Dec. 8.

She was born on Sept. 28, 1924, in Wahpeton, North Dakota. She lived and attended school in Fairmont, North Dakota, and worked for a short time in Indianapolis, Indiana. Delores married the "boy next door," Roy Shaw, upon his return from service in World War II, and to this union eight children were born.

The family was raised in Havre, Montana. Our home was always open to extra friends and children to share meals and conversation. Delores worked very hard raising her family and babysitting and was known best for her 40-plus years as an Avon salesperson.

She is survived by four daughters, Jody (Darrell) Lander of Havre, Jen (Noel) Henderson of Havre, Jeanne Shaw of Havre and Julie Arnold of Great Falls; four sons, John Shaw of Great Falls, Jeff (Jean) Shaw of Spokane, Washington, Jamie Shaw of Farmington, Minnesota, and  Jerry Mitchell (Marci) Shaw of Fairfield, Montana; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.

Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Shaw, in 2004, and she was the last surviving member of her family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home, and a private family service will be arranged at a later date.
