'Fill the Truck' program to help children in need

Havre Walmart and Havre Salvation Army have partnered together for the “Fill the Truck” program to support local children.

According to a Walmart press release, this is open to anyone who would like to donate new toys and coats to children who take part in the Salvation Army’s year-round programs.

A list of suggested gifts is available at Havre Walmart to help fill the collection bin at the store. The donations will be taken to the Salvation Army’s Havre Service Center and distributed to local children in need. This program is expected to provide gifts to more than 200 area children.

“Each child who benefits from the ‘Fill the Truck’ drive is another reason to support this event,” said Trina Crawford, director of the Havre Service Center. “Thanks to our work with Walmart and the communities involvement, we’re able to make Christmas special for families and children who need help — especially this time of year.”

Donations for the “Fill the Truck” program can be made until Wednesday.
