Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

Amelia Miller, Havre Swimming

The Havre Invitational swim meet is tough. With the likes of Great Falls High and CMR in the pool, the competition is fierce. But that didn't faze Blue Pony freshman Amelia Miller in her first Havre Invite Saturday at the Havre Community Pool. Miller won the grueling 400-yard freestyle with a time of 5:20.37, and finished third in the 200 individual medley, in what was her first-ever high school meet. Miller also swam relays for the Ponies, making Saturday a big day.

Dane Warp, Havre Basketball

Talk about picking up where you left off. A season ago, Havre High's Dane Warp was one of the top scorers in Class A basketball. Less than a year later, the junior is at it again. Warp poured in 60 points in Havre's two season-opening wins last weekend. He knocked in 26 points in last Friday's win over Malta, then put in 34 points, including a game-winning free throw, to lift HHS past the Class AA CMR Rustlers on Saturday night. Warp is a two-time All-State selection in basketball already.
