Chamber to salute outgoing board members

Havre Area Chamber of Commerce

The Havre Area Chamber of Chamber continues to grow and to be the key business organization in the area. The success of the Chamber is contingent upon informed, supportive and involved board members.

As the Chamber wraps up its 106th year of serving Havre, we say thank you to the following outgoing board members Jacob Lorang, Chandra Moomey, Cindy Keim and Dominique Preputin.

The Chamber is fortunate to have such dedicated community leaders working to help make a difference like these people serving this organization and the Havre community.

Lorang steps away from the Chamber board after serving for seven years.

Lorang has served on the executive committee for five years with a dedication to serve the membership. Lorang is a member of the Chamber Agri-Business Committee and the Leadership High School Committee and is co-chair of the Business Development Committee. He has been a great volunteer for the Havre Festival Days Parade. It has been a pleasure to have Lorang as a real partner these past seven years. He will remain on the Ag Committee and lend a helping hand with LHS.

Moomey has been dedicated to the work of the Chamber for the past five years. She has served on the Executive Committee and in 2012 served as board president. While serving as president, Moomey was very dedicated to leading the Chamber all the while being a great ambassador for the Chamber. While on the board, she has been active with planning the community tree-lighting activities and has also served on the Chamber's Tourism Committee. She is a board member and on the executive committee of the Central Montana Tourism region representing Hill County. Her tourism duties extend to also serving on the Havre Tourism Business Improvement District Board.

Keim is wrapping up six years of serving on the Chamber board. At this time each year we say goodbye and thank you to board members who have served the organization.

Preputin completes three years of dedicated service to the Chamber board. While also serving on the board, Preputin is active on the Chamber's Agri-Business Committee and Leadership High School.

While she may be stepping down from board duties, she will remain busy with Chamber activities through her committee work.

The Chamber consists of people working together to make their community a better place to live and make a living. It is a volunteer organization of citizens who are investing their time and energy in the community to improve the economic, civic and cultural well being of the Havre area.

"The enthusiasm and dedication for the future of Havre is what drives the board. I see this continuing into 2015," said Debbie Vandeberg, Chamber executive director.

Jan. 21, the Chamber's annual luncheon meeting will be held at the Duck Inn Olympic Room. The meeting will recognize the outgoing board members and thank the nearly 250 volunteers whose efforts allow the Chamber to greatly leverage our manpower to accomplish the board's goals. Those goals, in part, are to help improve the business climate and quality of life in Havre.
