Obituary - John Leroy Inman

John Leroy Inman, 76, died on Dec, 18, 2014, in Great Falls, Montana.

John is survived by his wife, Beverly, of 57 years; daughters, Joyce Billmayer of Bigfork, Montana, Judy Inman of Phoenix, Arizona, and Jill (Lorin) Krass of Hogeland Montana; and son, Robert (Twila) Inman of Conrad Montana; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and his brother Charles (Burnie) Inman of Havre, Montana. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bert Edgar Jr .; and mother, Frances Thomas Inman; infant son, James John Inman; and son-in-law, Scott W. Billmayer.

John was born on Jan. 30, 1938, in Havre, to Bert Edgar Jr. and Frances Thomas Inman. He graduated from Havre High School and attended Northern Montana College, graduating with an associate degree. John farmed with his father for the first years of his marriage. In 1958, he accepted a position with Hill County Electric/Triangle Telephone where he worked in Havre and Big Sandy and as the branch manager of the Chinook office until 1978 when he accepted a position at Mountain Bell in Havre as a toll test technician and electronic switching system supervisor. This transition allowed him to return to his true love of farming on a part-time basis.

John was actively involved in several organizations throughout his life including Jaycees (where he was a national director), Eagles, Elks, Masons and Shriners. He enjoyed classic cars and camping.

A celebration of life will take place at the Messiah Lutheran Church on Jan. 5, 2015, at 11 a.m.
