Northern ball set to celebrate students

The We Love Northern Ball is around the corner and will employ a new theme this year.

The ball is one of Montana State University-Northern’s premier fundraising events and all the money gained at the ball will go to scholarships for future and current Northern students.

The theme is “The Roaring ’20s,” said Jim Bennett, the Alumni Foundation director and one of the organizers of the event. He and Rachel Dean, the secretary to the chancellor, put together the theme and events planning for the Feb. 5 evening.

“I’m getting a lot of help from a lot of other campus and community members,” Bennett said. “We’re just looking forward to having a great event and raising money for scholarships for students.”

Bennett said Dean has organized many events for Havre and her know-how will help ensure the ball is a success.

“I think it’s going to be a very well-run and fun event,” he said.

At the ball, attendees may enjoy cocktails, dinner, silent and live auctions and dancing into the night to the music of Blind Luck.

“We’re planning on having a great night,” Bennett said. “Hopefully we see everyone from town.”

Tickets are available now at the Alumni Foundation office in Cowan Hall, room 305. Those wanting to purchase tickets can also do so by calling the office at 265-3711. Tickets are $50 for a single or $400 for a table of eight. Bennett said that there are sponsorship options available as well.
