Sunchild sentencing rescheduled

Bruce Harold Sunchild, one of the former Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation officials caught in the corruption investigations, was scheduled to receive his sentence today, but that has been moved to March 12.

Sunchild pleaded guilty Nov. 10 to a charge of income tax evasion, two counts of theft from an Indian tribal organization and bribery.

He and his lawyers filed a motion to continue to push back the date of the sentencing and their request was accepted.

He faces five years imprisonment with three years of supervised release with a $250,000 fine for the two separate charges of theft from an Indian tribal organization, five years with three supervised and a $250,000 for the tax evasion charge and 10 years imprisonment with three years supervised release and a $250,000 fine for the bribery charge.

His sentencing is scheduled for 10 a.m. March 12 in the Missouri River Federal Courthouse in Great Falls.
