Fort Belknap man denies involuntary manslaughter

A man charged with involuntary manslaughter pleaded not guilty Monday after being arrested Friday and is now scheduled to go to trial.

Sean Milo Stiffarm, 24, is accused of reckless driving that resulted in the death of Janika Louise Doney, 19, on or around May 10 near Harlem in Fort Belknap Indian Reservation.

Stiffarm and his federal public defender, Evangelo Arvanetes, are scheduled to go to a jury trial April 13 at 9 a.m. at the Missouri Federal Courthouse in Great Falls.

Stiffarm’s maximum penalty is eight years imprisonment with three years of supervised release and a $250,000 fine.
