Obituary - Gay Margaret (Burback) May

Gay Margaret (Burback) May, 87, a North Inverness farmer and homemaker, died Feb. 5, 2015, at the Liberty Medical Center in Chester.

It was Gay's request to be cremated with no formal services. These arrangements were handled by Rockman Funeral Chapel of Chester.

Gay was born Nov. 10, 1927, in Glendo, Wyoming, where she received her formal education. She attended beautician school before coming to Montana in the mid-1950s. She married an Inverness farmer, John J. May, on Dec. 27, 1957. They lived in Rudyard and Inverness, and raised a family of two. They were married 52 years when her husband died in 2010. Gay continued to live in Inverness until recent health issues required nursing home care.

Gay was a member of the Havre Eagles and Elks. Her hobbies included bowling, darts, computer games, reading and collecting Buddha figurines. She also had a "green thumb"and was a talented artist.

She is survived by her daughter, Katherin "Kathy" Albright (and husband, Shawn) of Havre; her son, John A. May of Inverness; six grandchildren, Jason (Sommer), Josh, Kelly, Glenn, Dallas and Aubrey; five great-grandchildren, McKinsey, Shayne, Brenden, Jessica and Adrianna; three siblings, Kathleen Burback of Idaho, Jerry Burback of Wyoming, and Sue Eckhart of Wyoming; and numerous nieces and nephews.
