Obituary - Edwin G. Harlow

The Lord called a new angel to be with him in the early hours of Monday, Feb. 9, 2015. Edwin Gerald Harlow, 58, passed away of complications from congestive heart failure and rheumatoid arthritis.

He was born on April 23, 1956, to Grover and Lorraine Harlow in Dickinson, North Dakota.

He was raised throughout Montana and graduated from Lodge Grass High School in 1974. He was valedictorian of his graduating class and a three-sport athlete earning many accolades. He then attended Montana State University in Bozeman.

In 1980, Ed moved to the Seattle area and began his career at the Boeing Company as a software development project manager and worked there for over 30 years.

Throughout his life Ed continued to enjoy sports, both as a participant and a spectator. Ed loved the University of Washington Huskies and was a football and basketball season ticket holder for many years. He enjoyed spending time and tailgating with his Husky football friends, as well as, attending basketball games with his wife, Lori and children. One of his favorite hobbies was playing golf. He was a course marshal at several golf courses in the area and was a caddy for the LPGA Safeco Classic for several years. He also enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii, as well as other golf destinations. Ed liked to do jigsaw puzzles, collect coins and cook.

Ed loved his family. He cherished spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and cats. He also enjoyed traveling back to Montana to visit his mother and siblings. Ed was a very spiritual person. He belonged to St. Stephens the Martyr in Renton, Washington, where he was a CCD teacher and a eucharistic minister.

He was preceded in death by his father, Grover Cleveland Harlow.

Ed is survived by his wife, Lori; daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Anthony Macey; son and fiancé, Jake Harlow and Shreve Eddington; daughter, Brianna Harlow; step-daughters, Tracey Rich and Wendy Daisley; mother, Lorraine Stevens; brothers, Bruce, Jeff (Susie) and Doug Harlow; sisters, Cindy Small, Barbara (Sam) Bitar, and Sheila Harlow; grandchildren Ricky, Taylor, Addison, Cash, Paisley, Wyatt, Peyton and Avery; many nieces and nephews; and many friends he considered family.

Memorials in Ed's name are suggested to the American Heart Association, Arthritis National Research Foundation or an organization of the donor's choice.
