Obituary - Calvin and Carol (Caplette) Russette

Calvin and Carol (Caplette) Russette of Rocky Boy passed away on March 4, 2015, at their residence.

Wake services began at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2015, and continued until their funeral service, which was at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2015, all at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rocky Boy. Burial followed in the New Russette Family Cemetery.

Calvin was born on Feb. 18, 1945, in Fort Belknap to Mike and Helen (Champagne) Russette. He was raised in Rocky Boy, attending schools there. Calvin left high school to work and help his family.

Carol was born on Sept. 17, 1945, in Fort Belknap to Frank and Theresa (Lamere) Caplette. She was raised in Rocky Boy, attending school there.

The couple married on Oct. 25, 1963. He worked for more than 25 years as a heavy equipment operator for the Rocky Boy Road Department. She worked for more than 20 years as a cook at Box Elder Schools.

Calvin enjoyed working on cars, socializing at the D & L and the Lone Tree bars, playing solitaire, reading, and Twinkies and Baby Ruths. Carol enjoyed embroidery, cooking, at which she excelled, cleaning, reading and caring for their pets. The couple loved to spend time with their family, especially their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

They were preceded in death by their parents Mike and Helen Russette, and Frank and Theresa Caplette; their daughter Diane; Calvin's brothers James, Gene, William "Tiny" and Lester Russette; Carol's brothers Robert, William "Tucker" and Steve Caplette; and Calvin's sisters Leota Caplette, Erma Racine and Wanda Russette.

They are survived by their daughters, Linda (Robert "Jr.") Oats and Kellie (Loren) Bacon, all of Rocky Boy; their seven grandchildren; their six great-grandchildren; Calvin's sister, Pauline Russette of Rocky Boy; Carol's sisters, Isabelle (Mike) Dotts and Dorothy (Ivan) Morning, all of Rocky Boy, and Shirley Sullivan of Mateca, California; their godson, Troy DeCora; and numerous beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
