District 9C girls honored

The 2014-15 girls high school basketball season came to a close two weeks ago. But the postseason honors are just starting to roll in.

The District 9C recently released its 2014-15 All-Conference Team, while Northern C All-State honors are also out.

Four players from the 9C, including a trio from Chinook earned all Northern C honors this winter. The Sugarbeeters got senior Katelyn Neibauer and junior Hannah Weber on the Northern C squad, as well as junior Brooke Nicholson. Neibauer is now a three-time all Northern C selection.

Chester/J-I sophomore Allix Goldhahn was also selected as a Northern C All-Stater this season.

Neibauer, Weber, Nicholson and Goldhahn also were named First-Team 9C this season and were four of eight players selected. District 9C champion Fort Benton had two players make the First Team in juniors Cassidy McCarthy and Makae Nack. Box Elder’s Leilani Gardipee and North Star’s Tylynn Rettig rounded out the First Team.

The Knights also had two players on the Second Team in senior Mackenzie Hansen and juniors Sheridan O’Neil. Box Elder had senior Alicia Wolf Chief and sophomore Tia Russell make the second team, while C/J-I got junior Madeline Woods and junior Peyton Cole on the Second Team.

Rounding out the 9C Second Team was Turner sophomore Ella Billmayer and Fort Benton sophomore Coya Nack.
