Cagers from the 9C named All-Conference

t was another memorable season of boys basketball along the Hi-Line and it was another particularly strong season for area teams that belong to the District 9C and the Northern C conference.

The 9C, which is one of the toughest districts in Class C boys basketball had another exciting season that saw the Box Elder Bears capture the district championship for third consecutive season. And because of that success, the 9C All-Conference team is full of Bears as Brandon The Boy, Clayton Morsette Jr., Jake Jones and Jerrod Four Colors all made the First Team. Head coach Jeremy MacDonald was named Coach of the Year after Box Elder went undefeated in district play and won the district tournament. The Bears finished third at the Northern C tournament.

The Chinook Sugarbeeters, who also had a stellar season that ended with two victories at divisionals were also well represented with two First-Teamers in Lane Seymour and Ian McIntosh. Rounding out the First Team was Justin May of Chester/J-I as well as Sterling White Cow and Tyson Shambo of Hays-Lodge Pole.

The Bears also had a fifth player honored as Quinn Baker earned Second Team All-Conference honors. C/J-I, which got May on the First Team, also had Brandon Richter and Troy Harmon earn their way onto the Second Team. The rest of the team includes, Cody McCracken of Chinook, Lucas Reed of Turner, Frank Runs Above of HLP and Toren Adreason of Fort Benton-Geraldine.

The Northern C division also had 14 players named to the Class C All-State team and five of those players resided from the Northern C. Three of them, The Boy, Four Colors and Morsette Jr., were from Box Elder, while Seymour of Chinook and May of C/J-I also made the team.

The rest of the Northern C players who made All-State are Kotin Haugrose and Parker McCaffery of Belt, Luke Davidson, Jordan LaFontaine and Darren Mack from Highwood as well as Kash Perry of Stanford, Tyler Tharp of Sunburst and Reid Nelson of Great Falls Central.
