HMS announces its students of the month

Havre Middle School's sixth-grade Student of the Month for the month of March is Lexi Haney.

Lexi is the daughter of Micky and Heather Haney. She has a sister, Lizzi, and a brother, Grady.

Lexi runs cross country for the Mustangs. She also plays softball, basketball and enjoys being outside.

Lexi's teachers note that she is on time every day. She is organized and prepared every day. Lexi cares about her work, wants to understand each and every lesson and isn't afraid to ask the "whys" to make it understood and mastered. She is patient and kind with others in class. One teacher wrote that "Her humor and personality is much appreciated!"

Lexi's future plans are to be a marine biologist.

Payton Brown is Havre Middle School's seventh-grade Student of the Month.

She is the daughter of Tracie and Robert Brown and has two sisters, Rene and Lunden.  Payton represents the HMS Mustangs in track and basketball. She enjoys hanging with friends and playing softball.  Payton is a dynamic young lady.  She is quiet, but participates in class, going above and beyond what she needs to accomplish the task.  Payton's plans now only include college.

Havre Middle School's Student of the Month in eighth-grade is Taylor Gopher.

Taylor is the son of Alicia Gopher and Bob Bergren. He has two sisters, Megan and Kelsey and a brother, Gabriel.

He represents the Mustangs well in wrestling and football.  Taylor is also the reigning HMS Chess Champion. Taylor's other hobbies include video games and volunteering at the soup kitchen.

Taylor takes great initiative in his learning and schoolwork. He asks for help when needed and works hard to understand concepts that are difficult. He has a great sense of humor and is willing to share that to brighten every day. He does great research on the Internet and shares it in class daily. Taylor's cheerfulness and friendliness is contagious. His personality, work ethic, desire to learn and great leadership are appreciated.

Taylor plans to be a marine biologist and stay active in wrestling and football.
