Stabbing suspect previously charged with rape

The 17-year-old boy who is charged with stabbing three people in their home Saturday morning was charged with rape in December.

Justice Lawrence Brown of Havre was accused of sexual intercourse without consent, a felony, for an event that occurred August 27, 2014. The alleged victim was 13 years old.

Brown is in custody at the Cascade County Juvenile Center in Great Falls for three counts of attempted deliberate homicide, one count of aggravated burglary and a state District Court warrant for a felony, which was issued for the rape charge.

He was arrested around 6 a.m. Saturday during a disturbance call supposedly unrelated to the 4:24 a.m. Saturday call about three people in an apartment who were stabbed multiple times. The victims gave police a description of the suspect, and when the police were called to another situation, Brown was there, covered in blood and fitting the description.

The three people stabbed were airlifted to Benefis Hospital to be treated for their wounds and one was then taken to a Seattle hospital.

All three, Sam Mix, Alicia Schneid and Taylor Woolman, are Montana State University-Northern students.
