Obituary Shawn Parker

Shawn Joseph Parker, "Chief Thunder Child", 37, of Rocky Boy, passed away at his home on May 6, 2015, of natural causes. Wake services will begin at 7 p.m. on May 6, 2015, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Box Elder. A rosary service will be held 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rocky Boy on May 7, 2015, and a funeral Mass will be at 10 a,m on Friday, May 8, 2015. Burial will follow in the Oats Family Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements. Shawn was born in Havre on Sept. 25, 1977, to Jake Parker and Evelyn Oats. He was raised in Rocky Boy, graduating from Rocky Boy High School.  He attended Stone Child College for a short time, before his appointment to the Montana Council for Developmental Disabilities, advocating for those with disabilities.  Shawn was an avid Rocky Boy Stars fan. He was a very spiritual and traditional person who loved to socialize and could be found at nearly every gathering of family and friends.  He was precious to everyone and touched the lives of those around him in a profound way.

Shawn is preceded in death by grandparents, Raymond Parker Sr. and Patricia Azure.

He is survived by his parents, Jake (Fawn) Parker and Evelyn (Gabriel Coriz) Oats, all of Rocky Boy; his other parents, Mona (Rick) Sunchild of Rocky Boy; his sisters, Violet (Kelly) Eagleman, Kachina (Tony) Ralston, all of Rocky Boy, and Tiffany Lovato of Albuquerque, N.M .; his brothers, Jacob (Tony Jo) Parker, Isaiah (Jamie) Parker, Jarod (Sam) Parker, all of Rocky Boy,  Kui Tahkeal of Washington, and Darius Lovato of Arizona; his maternal grandparents, Robert and Violet Oats Sr .; paternal grandmother, Merceline Parker,  all of Rocky Boy; his best friend, Tairell Walker of Rocky Boy; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
